Hamilton County budget hearings start this morning

The Hamilton County Commission started its budget hearings this morning with constitutional offices, including the County Clerk, the Sheriff and the Sessions and Criminal Court judges.

The overall budgets for all the constitutional offices outside of county general government increased $1.2 million; last year's request for all offices was $49.1 million.

The biggest drops in the constitutional offices are a $182,803 cut to Juvenile Court operations and a $149,596 to the Election Commission. The requested operations budgets for each are $6.7 million for Juvenile Court and and $1.5 million for the Election Commission.
