Dalton police seek suspects in car arson

Police in Dalton, Ga. are asking for the public’s help in finding two men suspected of setting a car on fire early Tuesday morning in Dalton, Ga.

A resident at 1218 Riverbend Road reported seeing two men dressed in black and possibly wearing masks pouring liquid onto a 1997 silver Fort Taurus parked outside, said Dalton Police spokesman Bruce Frazier. Then they ran toward Lavert Drive in front of the Shaw plant, Frazier said.

The people in the house ran across the street. The car was severely damaged and the fire also burned the corner of the house, he said.

Police searched the Lavert Drive area but weren’t able to find any clues, Frazier said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ricky Long at 706-278-9085, ext. 168.
