Special events celebrating outdoor activities have been added to the annual Riverfront Nights concert series produced by Friends of the Festival, according to the group.
The six-night musical series on the city's 21st Century Waterfront will focus on the Chattanooga Futbol Club, the local disc-sports scene, paddling, water conservation and bike polo. An event for prospective pet owners also will be featured.
The lineup features local and regional acts, as well as a mix of outdoor-oriented activities and presentations organized by Outdoor Chattanooga. Presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and anchored by entertainment sponsor State Farm, the green-themed series of free Saturday-night shows takes place on the GreenSpaces stage near Ross's Landing.
The series kicks off Aug. 6 with Revival - An Allman Brothers Experience and concludes Sept. 17 with Cajun singer/songwriter Paul Rhorn.
