Vision Airlines offers Chattanooga one-stops

Vision Airlines, which earlier this year started nonstop flights between Chattanooga and Destin/Fort Walton Beach, today announced one-stop service to five other cities.

Starting June 1, Chattanooga travelers can fly from Chattanooga via Destin/Fort Walton Beach to Orlando/Sanford, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.; Shreveport, La.; St. Petersburg/Tampa, Fla.; and Atlanta, according to the airline.

David Meers, Vision Airlines chief operating officer, said the new schedule will give passengers many more options to take advantage of its low fares.

Ok, so let me get this straight! Vision Airlines wants you to fly them to Atlanta, with a change-over in Destin. You have to be at the airport an hour before departure, plus the 3 hour and 50 minutes of travel time (assuming there is no delays going in to Atlanta....because there are NEVER any delays into Atlanta smirk), why would anyone see this as a good idea to use this service to ATL? One can drive it from Chattanooga in about 2 hours, on an average day? This doesn't make sense to me. Now, if you want to introduce service to Denver, or L.A. (and I don't mean Lower Alabama), or heck, even Myrtle Beach, now that would be service folks could use!!

I would really like to see an airline offer non-stop service between Chattanooga and Atlantic City, NJ. Does anyone know if there are any plans for this in the near future?

How about from Chattanooga to anywhere interesting . Denver , Colorado Springs , Las Vegas , Phoenix . Places we would love to visit but too far to drive and enjoy. Chattanoogans are handicapped when Traveling to popular vacation spots.

I gave up on CHA a long time ago - we are a non-priority in the airline world. Every now and then I try again (just twice in 2011 so far). 3 out of 4 flights to and from ATL delayed. Business as usual here.
