Chattanooga Christian got goals from five players Thursday and cruised to a 5-0 win over Notre Dame in the Region 4-A/AA boys' soccer championship match at CCS.

The Chargers (14-3-4) didn't get too much going in the first half other than Sasha Peters' breakaway goal in the 14th minute, but they scored four in the second half to advance comfortably to the sectionals.

CCS will host Region 3-A/AA runner-up Sweetwater at 7 p.m. Saturday. Notre Dame (10-5-3) will play East Hamillton at 2 p.m. at Redoubt.

East Hamilton (15-2-2) won 2-0 at Sweetwater with Jose Orellano scoring an unassisted goal and David Duk converting an assist from Steven Sloan.

Chargers coach Shawn Brower said he didn't like a lot of what he saw in the first half other than Peters' goal.

"Sasha Peters, he was the spark plug for us," Brower said. "I would say in that first half he was the one guy that was to the wall, and we needed a spark plug."

Taylor Farrar set up the first goal with a long pass down the left side. Peters ran it down, just beating Notre Dame goalkeeper Johnny Hoffer to the ball. Hoffer had a chance at it on the edge of the penalty box but hesitated before charging. That allowed Peters to get there first and slide a shot past Hoffer into the empty net, just missing the left post.

Peters later left the game with a leg injury after colliding with Hoffer in the second half, and Hoffer went out in the 71st minute following a collision on a save.

Taylor Black, Josh Womack, Davis Quezada and Tim Love scored the second-half goals.
