Lookouts win with seven-run fifth

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Chattanooga Lookouts used a seven-run fifth inning to beat the Carolina Mudcats 8-3 in the last game of their five-game Southern League baseball series Tuesday night.

The Lookouts took the series with the win and improved to 23-22 with 25 games remaining in the league's first half.

Chattanooga trailed 3-1 entering the fifth, when a leadoff home run to right field by Matt Wallach ignited the outburst. Kyle Russell hit a double to right that scored Elian Herrera and Brian Cavazos-Galvez in the fifth, and Wilberto Ortiz had a two-run homer to left.

Game one of a five-game series against Huntsville at AT&T Field is tonight at 7:15. Will Savage (4-1, 2.93 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Wily Peralta (2-4, 4.75) scheduled for the Stars.

De La Rosa to L.A.

Lookouts starting pitcher Rubby De La Rosa was promoted to Los Angeles on Tuesday, where he is expected to begin in the bullpen. De La Rosa, the organization's pitcher of the year in 2010, is 2-2 this season with a 2.93 ERA.
