Three face meth charges

A man and two women - one of whom is eight months pregnant - face meth-related charges after police noticed smoke coming from an adjacent apartment while investigating a disorder early Tuesday, according to Chattanooga police Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Francio Martinez, Maria Davis and mother-to-be Brittany Pate were charged with initiating manufacture of a meth lab and possession of drug paraphernalia, Weary said.

Police were called to 5430 Crestview Drive in Hixson on a disorder around 1 a.m. All three were at the address and admitted to having access to an adjacent apartment. Inside the next-door apartment was a working meth lab, which they all admitted to operating, Weary said.

Pate was taken to a hospital for treatment and will be jailed when she is discharged, Weary said.


Woman breaks up fight, shot in foot

Chattanooga police are investigating an early morning Fifth Avenue shooting after a woman said she was shot in the foot while breaking up a fight.

Brenda Finnell drove herself to a hospital just after midnight Tuesday. She told police she got the wound while breaking up a fight at 2820 Fifth Ave., but she wouldn't give officers specific details.

Her wounds were treated and she was released. No suspect information or motive is available, police said

Police car slams into prisoner van

A Chattanooga police patrol unit slammed into a prisoner transport van Tuesday, rolling the van and sending three to the hospital, according to Chattanooga police Sgt. Jerri Weary.

The van, carrying two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents and one prisoner, rolled over at 2112 Stein Drive.

All injuries appeared minor. Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.


Hixson Pike bank branch robbed

Chattanooga police are investigating a robbery of the Regions Bank at 3894 Hixson Pike, according to a news release.

Police were dispatched to the bank Monday around 9:30 a.m. after a man walked into the bank and demanded money from everyone, the news release stated.

Police described the suspect as black, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds.

The robber ordered everyone in the bank into the vault after taking money from the tellers, police stated.

No one was able to see what direction the robber fled after leaving the bank, police said.
