Buyers of Volkswagen’s Chattanooga-made Passat will see prices starting at $19,995 for the base model running to $32,950 for the top-of-the-line model.
The base model with a 2.5 liter engine and manual transmission and 170 horsepower has a starting price of $19,995, according to the company.
The 2.0 liter engine TDI clean diesel model offers three trim levels and starts at $25,995, the company said.
The Passat TDI is the only clean diesel option in the midsize segment is expected to deliver 43 miles per gallon on the highway with a range of nearly 800 miles.

The clean diesel TDI model sounds very interesting!!!
What we want off course is a TDI clean diesel that is also a hybrid electric engine with a plug in feature. power would be from TVA nuclear from your garage over night,drive to work on the electrical engine.The Diesel engine would be for highway driving out of town.
