State troopers released the names of two of four Chattanoogans who were killed in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 59 in Alabama earlier this week.

Viola Smith, 41, Joan Smith, 22, and two boys whose names were not released were killed in the accident, an Alabama Department of Public Safety incident report shows.

The driver of the 2000 Mazda, 20-year-old Jonnay Smith, was the only person who survived in the car, and she was taken to the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital with injuries, the report showed.

The accident occurred about a mile north of Trussville, Ala., on Interstate 59 around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, the report states.

Allan Vice, of Vernon, Ala., who was driving a 2008 Peterbilt truck, also was injured and transported to UAB hospital. The driver of the third vehicle, 39-year-old Nicole Pope, was taken to Brookwood hospital with injuries.

The report didn't say what driver was at fault, and the accident is still under investigation.
