Chattanooga lawyer Carl Mark Warren censured in case

Friday, January 1, 1904

A local attorney has been reprimanded by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility for conduct in a 2010 case.

The board censured Carl Mark Warren for not obtaining a written fee arrangement for a contingency fee on a personal injury claim, according to a news release.

Warren accepted a settlement without his client's authorization and endorsed a settlement check, according to the release.

The public censure is "a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney's ability to practice law," the release said.
