  • HEAD OF THE HOOCH One of the most spectacular local events of the year will be under way this weekend at Ross's Landing. The Head of the Hooch rowing competition is expected to draw 1,600 teams from across the United States. Good viewing sites include the Chattanooga Pier, Ross's Landing, the Walnut Street Bridge, the Bluff View Art District and the Tennessee Riverpark. Action today is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

  • BATTLE BANZAI Battle Academy, 1601 Market St., will host its annual Battle Banzai fall festival today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include a silent auction, inflatables, food, arts vendors and games.
