2 in custody, 1 sought in Calhoun, Ga., slaying

An apparent robbery in Calhoun, Ga., ended with a fatal shooting early Saturday, the Gordon County sheriff said.

Two people have been arrested and a manhunt is on for a third, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called about 2 a.m. to a house on Union Grove Church Road. They were told that three men came in, demanded money and then shot Jason David Hammond, age 42.

Deputies traced a vehicle the men were in and eventually took two into custody for questioning, the news release stated. A third man is still at large.

The body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab, and the GBI is assisting in the case, the release stated.
