A Georgia man was arrested in Marion County Sunday night after witnesses told police he was waving a gun on a Greyhound bus.

Richard Biggs, 26, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon and public intoxication, and is being held in the Marion County jail on $3,500 bond, Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett said

About 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the Marion County Sheriff's Office received a call about a reported hostage situation on a Greyhound bus, he said.

Witnesses said they saw a man waving a gun around on the bus and alerted the bus driver, who pulled over at a rest stop on Interstate 24, telling the passengers there was a problem with the vehicle, Burnett said.

When law enforcement got to the rest stop, they searched the bus and found a pistol under a seat, Burnett said.
