The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team picked up a pair of Southern Conference Player of the Week awards today.

Defensive end Josh Williams was named the Defensive Player of the Week and wide receiver/punter Joel Bradford was named the top special teams player.

In UTC's 24-9 win at Samford last Saturday, Williams had seven tackles, including three sacks. The most important went for a 16-yard loss and forced Samford to settle for a field goal in the fourth quarter with the Mocs up 17-6.

Bradford punted nine times and averaged 40.4 yards a boot. Three punts went more than 50 yards, including a 58-yarder late in the game that pinned the Bulldogs deep in their territory. He also had four downed inside the 20-yard line.

UTC is off this week and will wrap up its season on Nov. 19 against Wofford.
