A man was charged Monday in Tunnel Hill, Ga., with possessing 16.6 pounds of marijuana, police said.
Kenneth Gay was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and with trafficking marijuana, Tunnel Hill Police Department Sgt. Scott Reneau said.
The amount of marijuana found could be sold for about $25,000, Reneau said.
On Monday around 1:30 p.m. police stopped a car with Gay in it for a traffic violation. During conversations with the people in the car, criminal activity was suspected, Reneau said.
A K-9 dog signaled that there were narcotics in the car, and a search of the car revealed marijuana in Gay’s bag. Gay claimed that all of the drugs were his, Reneau said.
