Bradley County: Two arrested in rollers thefts

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Two men were arrested by Bradley County Sheriff's Office deputies and accused of stealing 65 cement rollers.

Cleveland resident Tony Carmen Pyburn, 23, and his 37-year-old uncle, David Lebron Pyburn, of Rossville, were arrested on charges of theft of property over $10,000 and drug possession.

The 65 cement rollers, which weighed 90 pounds each, were being used to form concrete around storm grates, according to Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault.

They were stolen in multiple visits to the 3100 block of Dalton Pike over the course of four days, ending Oct. 11, Gault said. Each was valued at $32,000, Gault said, and they were sold to scrap metal dealers in Ooltewah and Chattanooga.

Both men are being held in the Bradley County Jail on $20,000 bond.
