A 20-year-old man is accused of trying set his ex-girlfriend's apartment on fire, according to a Chattanooga police report.

Christopher Lowe is charged with aggravated arson and, as of this afternoon, he remained in Hamilton County jail without bond. His next court date is set for Nov. 29 before General Sessions Court Judge Christine Sell.

Lowe recently got out of jail and went to his ex-girlfriend's home located in the 2300 block of Wilson Street where she cooked him food and later told him he couldn't stay, according to the arrest report. He became angry and told her he was going to burn her stuff, then left, the report said.

The woman told police someone broke a window to her apartment Sunday and threw a burning shirt doused in a flammable liquid inside. The shirt burned a place in the carpet but went out on its own, according to the report.

The woman also showed police a couple of threatening text messages from Lowe, according to the report.

Lowe was previously arrested in September for harassment but the case was dismissed, according to court records.
