The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce has begun looking at who will take the place of current Chief Executive Tom Edd Wilson.
Wilson said today in a note to business leaders that he doesn’t expect to retire until the early part of 2013.
But, the process to find a replacement is starting to provide for flexibility in finding “the right candidate and overlap between the new CEO’s start and my end date....”
Tom Griscom, former Chamber board chairman, is leading the Chamber’s Transition Committee, Wilson said.
“After the committee identifies the new president and CEO, we anticipate that I will continue to lead the Chamber for a substantial period of time while the new person gets up to speed,” Wilson said.
Mike Pare, the deputy Business editor at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, has worked at the paper for 27 years.
