Big honor for Chattanooga built VW Passat

Whether or not you plan to buy a Volkswagen Passat yourself, it is exhilarating for our community that the Chattanooga-made vehicle has been honored by Motor Trend magazine as Car of the Year.

The Passat narrowly beat out the Chrysler 300.

The Passat was praised for its design, engineering, fuel efficiency, safety and value. All those factors are obviously important as buyers choose a car.

This honor can only enhance the Passat's prestige and increase sales, benefiting our community as well as Volkswagen.

We reflect with pride on the success of the Passat, and on the economic boost that success will bring.

This is not really a surprise given the fact that Passat is a really good car with good parts like the engine, brakes pads and navigation system.
