Money and greed rule the nation

Money and greed rule the nation

We've had Reaganomics for 30 years and as a result the top 1 percent of Americans receive 40 percent of the income; it has increased 259 percent. Increases for wage earners has been zilch. Fifty percent of Americans make less than $26,000 a year. Unconscionable!

Twenty-five million Americans are unemployed with 45 million on food stamps, and the Republicans are determined to reduce this number. In the end only God will be left to feed the hungry!

Money and greed rule the nation. The people with wealth have the power and we are losing our democratic institutions. Due to "Citizens United," money is "free speech" and "corporations are individuals." A Chinese corporation doing business here can have more influence on our government than thousands of Americans collectively. Frightening!

Social Security and Medicare could be destroyed if they have their way. To say Social Security is broke is a Republican lie. A Democratic Congress, under Reagan, in the 1980s addressed the problems. The funds will not run out for another 30 years. Even then beneficiaries would receive 70 percent of their benefits.

Roosevelt said, "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." Where is an FDR when we need him?

Oh, yes, Obama fulfilled goals

Anyone who considers President Obama's record for the last three years to be a failure is either ignorant or totally misinformed.

He has been one of the most successful presidents ever, because he has fulfilled most of his goals that were set by his pre-election handlers.

To wit: he promised to revise the distribution of wealth in this country; "Tax the Rich" is now the battle cry for his Occupy minions, as well as his liberal supporters.

He promised his team a $1 billion re-election war chest; the result -- pension dues skimmed from various unions will total this much and more, and you, the taxpayer will pay for it!

He promised an additional several million Latino voters for next year's election; presto -- the "Dream Act" should easily pass in the U.S. Senate soon.

He wanted to "end United States global bullying"; hence, the never-ending apology tours.

He promised to "reach out to our Muslim friends"; now, he has shown total disrespect for our Israeli allies, a 30-day Muslim celebration, ignoring of Christian values, a "NASA Salute to The Muslim World," release of Gitmo prisoners so they can resume killing our soldiers and others, etc.

Does this sound like failure? Of course not, and if he is re-elected a year from now, well, "you ain't seen nuthin' yet"!
