Police catch burglary suspects in Dalton

A man was spotted Friday morning kicking down the door to a Dalton, Ga., house while another man waited in a Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Dalton police were called to the scene and chased down 20-year-old Michael Rodriquez, the man officers believe kicked down the door and stole a DVD player, 30 DVDs, binoculars, a speaker and a leaf blower, according to Dalton police spokesman Bruce Frazier.

Officers also tracked the Jeep Cherokee and contacted 23-year-old Martin Ortega by phone. Ortega, who police believes was the man in the Jeep, surrendered to police, Frazier wrote in a release.

Both men were charged with one count each of burglary.
