Whitfield roads remain clear, Catoosa reports high water, one road closure

Officials in Whitfield County say there are no road closures from heavy rains, but in Catoosa, officials say one road in Ringgold is closed and nine or 10 others are underwater but passable.

Nashville Street in Ringgold is closed at the train trestle, according to Catoosa officials.

High water has been reported on Steele Road at Mack Smith Road, Lakeview Road and South Lake Terrace, Old Mill Road at the water company, the 700 block of Wooten Road at the bridge, the 400 block of Poplar Springs Road at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, South Cedar Lane at Angel EMS' old station, East Lakeview Drive at State Line Road, F.O. Patterson Avenue behind Capital Bank, and Cross Street at Lakeview Middle School, according to emergency officials.

In Whitfield, officials said high water has been reported on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Roan Street School and on Walnut Avenue in front of the mall.

Officials in both counties noted that the heavy rain has had no impact on schools so far.
