A former pediatrician is on trial Tuesday in Wilson County charged her with killing her 4-year-old adopted daughter.
Deborah Wen-Yee Mark, 40, was charged with first-degree murder in the beating death of the girl, Kairissa, in the summer of 2010.
Mark and her husband, Steven Mark, adopted the child from China in March 2010.

Does anyone track these foreign adoption to make sure these children aren't being abused? What in the world could a 4 year old have done to cause someone to beat them to death? And a pediatrician at that? God help U.S. all!!
I have a little cousin adopted from China and this makes me sick. She is such a precious young lady now and I cant imagine how anyone could do this to a child.... I hope she rots in prison!
