Bizarrely defending illegal acts

The Board of Regents in Georgia has adopted a reasonable and sadly necessary policy directing the University of Georgia and a number of other universities in the state not to grant admission to illegal aliens.

But in response, scores of faculty members at UGA have signed a misguided petition demanding that the board overturn that policy and allow UGA and the other universities to admit illegal alien students.

Bizarrely, the petition declares that denying college admission to people who are in the United States unlawfully "represents a step in the direction of resegregation of public education in our state."

Resegregation? That's absurd!

It isn't "segregation" to insist that taxpayer-funded institutions of higher learning not grant scarce spaces in their classrooms to people who are in the United States in violation of the law.

That not only forces taxpayers to subsidize illegal behavior, but it denies seats in those institutions to U.S. citizens, as well as to legal immigrants.

It is puzzling and troubling that faculty at a respected university would seek to confer benefits on people who have no right to be in America -- to the detriment of those who do have that right.

Puzzling? Not at all. Troubling? It is a lot worse than that.

That is how the faculty in our failing publicly-funded schools are.

Think of them as being the UAW, et al, union members who lead their companies down the bankruptcy path. Neither the faculty nor the UAW give a flying [expletive deleted] about the welfare of our citizens/legal residents and their education, so long as they get theirs.

Home-school your children or send them to private schools...they will be immensely better off. College? Check out any Occupy site at random to see the end-products. [Much of it on the ground, the bushes, the street.]

RIGHT on! Follow the money. Universities raise tuitions knowing the feds will give low cost loans to students who obviously could care less. Follow the indoctrination. Leftist professors ( professors, not possesors ) then recruit more leftists by propagating their Marxist, Socialist doctrines to the young, naive, and inexperienced. Charges of resegregation is just another ploy to get more students enrolled. Thanks for getting things going Rolando.

UNBELIEVABLE! ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL! Period! Resegregation? GOOD! SEGREGATE their ILLEGAL as..s back to the countries they came from! And, IF they return they WILL BE INCARCERATED! As for these faculty members - FIRE THEM! They should be worrying about educating the kids that can afford to go to college LEGALLY! Next we will have to hire translators at our colleges!

Have any of you noticed the recent influx of ILLEGALS into Chattanooga? If not, drive through St Elmo and look at all the Hispanics doing CONSTRUCTION jobs (the jobs citizens dont want)...Drive through East Lake and find a house with 6-7 cars in the yard, knock on the door and see if anyone speaks ENGLISH! Why are they going to Chattanooga and Tennessee? Because Georgia and Alabama have new laws on the books to weed out ILLEGALS! If you have nothing to hide why run?

Gosh Gee, do we have capitalism or not? Do we need to regulate or not? You guys want to hunt and pick which businesses do what, but no regulation for the bankers that transferred taxpayer money into their pockets? People can be illegal, but crooks are legal? Next time you holier-than-thou right-wingers pray, ask God how one of the flock can be illegal.

1 John 4:20 New International Version (NIV) 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+John+4%3A20&version=NIV

Not too long ago, it was patriotic to welcome those to the United States that needed a home.

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_...

It has only been since the Birth Certificate Bonds, that we require documentation. So, does that mean you are cheerleading for the BC Bonds? The bigger picture shines light on the hypocricy.

Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that one does not actually have.[1] Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hipocracy

Woman---

Don't misuse Scripture. Biblical love doesn't sanction or encourage illegal behavior.

Con, You don't get to tell me what to do or not do. I will use, mis-use, quote, and research anything I want. Get over yourself. Truth sucks sometimes, but you don't get to pick it. Your biblical love shows all the time. We all see it so plainly.

It still is, JustOneWoman. We have long welcomed the LEGAL immigrants to our shores. I, and most Americans, discriminate between the legals and the illegals -- yes, discriminate; look it up. Use something reputable, not user-input wikipedia...dictionary.com isn't bad...or any other dictionary.

YOU, the WH, the AJ, et al, would have our borders completely open and unguarded to enable all and sundry to enter and steal from us -- the rightful residents.

Are you an illegal alien, by chance, or maybe have an illegal alien relative living here?

Our president, The Obama, has TWO of them here, so you won't be alone...just follow his lead and ignore them publicly while supporting them in private. Nothing two-faced or dishonest about that, right? Yeah, right.

No Comment on this story from the ILLEGAL loving Perla Trevizo????

Perla is just doing her job - stirring the pot. Controversial(biased) articles counter to popular concensus, spawn feedback(traffic)and the paper's web advertising rate is based on the amount of traffic on their site. Since Perla's articles generate revenue, you can expect a lot more of the same. It is just another strategy to profit from illegal aliens.

If you are tired of Perla's sob stories, don't respond to her articles, and she will be out of a job...
