Narcotics investigation leads to 167 indictments

A yearlong narcotics investigation conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies resulted in 167 indictments being issued, police said.

Forty-eight people were arrested Wednesday on various drug-related charges as part of the operation, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said.

During the operation, law enforcement seized a car, $128 in cash, 25 grams of marijuana, 14 grams of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine lab, Atkinson said.

The drug indictments included simple possession, possession to resale, sale and delivery of narcotics, manufacturing marijuana, manufacturing methamphetamine and conspiracy, Atkinson said.

The initiative, dubbed Operation Hustle Flow II, began as a response to concerns from neighborhood watches and communities in unincorporated Hamilton County, Atkinson said.
