State prepares biggest debt sale

Tennessee will hold the largest bond sale in state history next week to pay for capital and infrastructure projects including Volkswagen, Amazon, Wacker and the UTC library. Tennessee Comptroller Justin Wilson said the state will sell an estimated $584 million worth of bonds to refinance higher interest debt from the past and to pay for capital projects by the state.

"I'm pleased that these bonds will be used to pay for a variety of needs our citizens have, including economic development projects that will create badly needed jobs," Wilson said.

EPB relocates Brainerd office

EPB on Monday will move its Brainerd customer service operations to 830 Eastgate Loop behind the Eastgate complex. The satellite office will have three drive-through windows initially, with a fourth to be added later this fall.

"With extra drive-through windows, an area for customers to experience EPB Fiber Optics services, and easier access into and out of the parking lot, we hope our customers will find us more accessible than ever," said Kathy Burns, EPB's senior vice president of customer relations. Hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 6 p.m.
