A Dalton, Ga., man is wanted for battery charges after police say he went to the restaurant where his ex-girlfriend works and dragged her out by the hair.

Dalton police say 27-year-old Jesus Escamilla showed up at the Margarita's restaurant at Walnut Square Mall on July 29.

Escamilla, whose last known address is 212 Easterling St., confronted a former girlfriend, said police spokesman Bruce Frazier. But when the woman tried to walk to the front of the restaurant to get help, Escamilla grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out the back door, Frazier said.

Once outside, Escamilla punched her in the face repeatedly, causing her eye to swell shut, Frazier said. Then he fled the scene when someone tried to help the woman, he said.

Escamilla is a Hispanic man, who is 5 foot 9 inches and weighs about 140 pounds. He has close cropped dark hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Escamilla's whereabouts is asked to please contact Officer Tommy Ensley with the Dalton Police Department at 706-278-9085, ext. 250.
