Walker County dispatcher arrested for DUI

A Walker County dispatcher charged with driving under the influence over the weekend is back at work, authorities said.

Christina O'Toole was pulled over and arrested for drinking on Sunday when she was on her four days off, said Walker County Emergency Management Director David Ashburn.

O'Toole is back at work, but she will likely face disciplinary actions after her case is heard in court, Ashburn said. If O'Toole is convicted of the DUI, she will be disciplined. However, she won't lose her job, he said.

"It was just a bad decision," Ashburn said.

O'Toole did violate work policy, which states employees must handle themselves reasonably in the public, Ashburn said. But she has never been disciplined while employed in Walker County, he said.

O'Toole became a Walker County dispatcher five years ago, he said.
