A 19-year-old has been convicted on two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault in the stabbing death of a Chattanooga man.

Johnathan Ellison was convicted on charges of malice murder and felony murder by a jury in Dade County Superior Court, which had deliberated for most of the day.

They dismissed a second count of felony murder and one count of armed robbery.

A date for his sentencing has not been set.

Ellison was convicted of killing 35-year-old Antwane Hyatte in what prosecutors said was a setup disguised as a marijuana deal.

A co-defendant, James Oglesby, 27, is charged with the same counts. His trial is set for next year.
