A Walker County sheriff's deputy was forced to resign after an investigation showed he kissed at 14-year-old girl and had oral sex with a 16-year-old girl, an internal office investigation said.

Former Deputy Gaylon Redwine, 28, who was hired in 2006, kissed a 15-year-old girl four days before her 16th birthday, then had oral sex with her after she turned 16, the sheriff's office investigation revealed.

Redwine also kissed a 14-year-old when he went on a trip over the Fourth of July weekend to Panama City, Fla., with the girl's family, the report said. The deputy was friends with the girl's father, the report said.

The sheriff's office is not releasing the names of the girls or their parents.

While Redwine was forced to resign, he won't be criminally prosecuted based on prosecutors' decision, said Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.

The sheriff's office began to investigate Redwine this fall when one of the girl's fathers contacted the sheriff's office. Both the district attorney's office in Panama City, Fla., and the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office were notified of Redwine's actions.

But Lookout Mountain Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Evans said her office decided not to prosecute Redwine in Walker County since the teenage girl was 16, the age of consent in Georgia.

Florida authorities also decided not to prosecute him for kissing the 14-year-old, authorities said.
