Tennessee girl, 12, found in Dalton after Amber Alert

A 12-year-old Tennessee girl who went missing after her stepfather attacked her mother was found in Dalton on Friday about 3:30 p.m.

An Amber Alert from Overton County, Tenn., was issued for the girl, Cassidy Dailey, earlier Friday.

She was found after someone called the Dalton Police Department to say that a man driving a truck matching the Amber Alert description had arrived at the Motel 6 at 2200 Chattanooga Road.

The girl's stepfather, Allen Harness, was driving a Ford F-350 pickup with the words "Tennessee Central Concrete" on the side.

Harness surrendered to Dalton police and was brought to the Whitfield County Jail, police said.

He is awaiting extradition to Overton County, located northeast of Nashville near the Tennessee-Kentucky state line.
