The 5700 block of Browntown Road has been closed to traffic this afternoon and will stay closed until Friday afternoon because of a cave-in at a pipeline construction area, according to the Chattanooga traffic engineer's office.
Rebecca LeVally of the traffic engineer's office said crews were repairing a storm drain when small cave-in occurred. That interfered with placing a metal plate across the road so traffic could use it. No injuries or damage were reported, she said.
The closed area is just north of Traditions Drive and Bennet Road.
LeVally said the road should reopen at 4 p.m. Friday.
