Region 7-AAAA
Lambert 7-1 7-1 vs. Rome, at Cass
Chattahoochee 7-1 7-1 at. South Forsyth, at Rome
Johns Creek 7-1 7-1 vs. Northwest Whitfield, vs Forsyth Central
Rome 6-2 6-2 at Lambert, vs. Chattahoochee
Northwest Whitfield 5-3 5-3 at Johns Creek, vs. South Forsyth
The top three teams are, barring a major upset, going to make the playoffs. Rome just needs to win one of its final two games to secure a berth since the Wolves defeated Northwest earlier this season. However, if Rome loses both its final two games -- and those are against two of the top three teams -- Northwest's Bruins can get in with wins in their final two games.
Region 7A-AAA
Ridgeland 5-3 4-0 vs. Heritage, region play-in game
Ringgold 5-3 2-2 vs. LaFayette, region play-in game
LaFayette 5-3 2-2 vs. Ringgold, region play-in game
Dalton 2-6 2-2 at Southeast Whitfield, region play-in game
Heritage 6-2 2-2 at Ridgeland, region play-in game
SE Whitfield 2-6 0-4 vs. Dalton, region play-in game
This week's GHSA ruling against Dalton and subsequent forfeiture of two subregion games leaves five teams playing for three week 10 playoff play-in games. The only known is that Ridgeland, one of the teams benefiting from Dalton's misfortune, will play at Allatoona next week for a possible fourth consecutive region championship. The winner of the Ringgold-LaFayette game will earn one of the three spots. Heritage, the other team earning a forfeit victory, will earn the No. 3 seeding with a win over Ridgeland, while Dalton can get the No. 2 seeding with a win over Southeast and a Heritage loss. If three teams are tied for second place, Dalton would lose the first tiebreaker, which is games against teams in the same classification. The forfeits to Gilmer County and Murray County then would come into play.
Region 7B-AA
Calhoun 8-0 5-0 at Lakeview-F.O., region play-in game
Lakeview-F.O. 4-4 4-1 vs. Calhoun, region play-in game
Gordon Central 5-3 3-2 at North Murray, region play-in game
Dade County 4-4 2-3 at Chattooga, region play-in game
Chattooga 3-5 2-3 vs. Dade County, region play-in game
Sonoraville 3-6 2-4 off, region play-in game
North Murray 0-8 0-5 vs. Gordon Central, region play-in game
The winner of tonight's Calhoun-LFO game will be the subregion champion and will host Pepperell in next week's region-championship game. Gordon Central can clinch a top-three seeding and a shot at the playoffs with a win tonight and would be the No. 2-seeded team with a win and LFO loss. Chattooga can earn the No. 3 seeding with a win over Dade County and a Gordon Central loss.
Region 6-A
Bowdon 7-1 4-1 vs. Bremen, at Mt. Paran
Darlington 6-2 4-1 at Walker, vs. Gordon Lee
Mt. Paran 6-2 4-1 At Mt. Zion, vs. Bowdon
Bremen 5-3 4-1 at Bowdon, vs. Trion
Trion 2-6 2-3 vs. Gordon Lee, at Bremen
Walker 2-6 1-4 vs. Darlington, at Mt. Zion
Gordon Lee 2-6 1-4 at Trion, at Darlington
Mt. Zion 0-8 0-5 at Mt. Paran, vs. Walker
Five teams are vying for the four playoff spots, and the top spot won't be settled until the final week since the top four teams have all beaten each other. Trion, though, still has a shot at the fourth berth, but needs to win its final two games and have Bremen lose to Mt. Paran.
