A 33-year-old man has been charged with kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault after his girlfriend was found lying in the road, officials said.

Donaldtay Partee turned himself into East Ridge authorities on Tuesday, said Officer Erik Hopkins, spokesman for East Ridge police.

Partee was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and is scheduled to be in East Ridge Municipal Court on Sept. 13, Hopkins said.

About 3:30 a.m. Sunday, East Ridge police found Dorisea Hart lying on the pavement in the 4100 block of Ringgold Road, Hopkins said.

She told police that Partee had hit her with his vehicle, tossing her into the air. Partee stopped, got out and grabbed her by the neck, trying to drag her into the car, she told police.

She said she fought Partee off and he left the scene, Hopkins said.
