Man threatens grandfather for not giving crack money

A grandson was arrested Monday night, a Chattanooga Police officer wrote in an arrest report, after he threatened to hurt his grandfather for not giving him the $20 he needed to buy crack.

Gregory L. Williams has faced charges in the past for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, and the arrest report said Williams has assaulted John Hudgins, his 76-year-old grandfather, before and stolen his money.

Williams is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on domestic assault charges, and he will go to court on Sept. 19.

Two men argue over women, one ends up in hospital

A 48-year-old man and a 43-year-old man were arguing over women Sunday afternoon, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrest report, when the 43-year-old pulled out a large stick and started beating the other man.

Police said Johnny Malone, the 48-year-old, was bleeding out of the left side of his head. He was taken to Erlanger hospital.

According to Benny Cook, the 43-year-old who was arrested for aggravated assault, Malone pushed him, and he grabbed a stick, which police said looked like a baseball bat, and started whacking Malone.

Cook is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on $15,000 bond. His first court date is Friday.

Woman arrested for assaulting estranged husband with razor

Lawanda Bridges, 33, was charged with aggravated assault for stabbing her estranged husband with a straight razor, according to the arrest report.

Police responded to a call at 511 S. Hawthorne street Friday and found a victim suffering from a large laceration to his arm and a small cut to his neck, according to the report.

The victim told him that his wife, who he is separated from, opened his car door and attacked him when he pulled into the post office to pick up his disability check, the report stated.

The victim said his wife attacked him because he has mentally abused her, and that the couple have had numerous domestic violence issues, according to the report. He was sent to Park Ridge Hospital to receive treatment for the injury on his arm.
