The man charged in the killing of an up-and-coming rap artist is set to appear before Hamilton County Criminal Court in two weeks.
Dexter Talley, 30, has been charged in the April death of rapper Robert "Brikk" Brown IV. Police allege Talley killed Brown during a robbery attempt off Bonny Oaks Drive.
In 2009, Talley was sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison and at least five years probation on drug charges.
On Wednesday, Talley's disposition before Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern was set for Sept. 21.
He has been charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated assault.
