A Bledsoe County High School football player is in critical condition today after an injury Thursday afternoon during practice.

Erlanger Health System officials in Chattanooga confirmed this morning that Paul Kainen Boring, a junior, is in critical condition. Newspaper archives show Boring played kicker on the 2010 team.

Bledsoe County Director of Schools Phil Kiper today confirmed the injured player was airlifted from Pikeville, Tenn., to a Chattanooga hospital. Kiper said he could not release any information about the player or his injury.

"We ask everyone to pray for him," Kiper said.
