Ringgold man arrested for shooting at business competitor's window

Police arrested a Ringgold, Ga., man believed to have shot at the camper window of business competitor.

Ringgold police arrested William Adams, owner of Parkway Auto Sales, on Tuesday after his truck was caught on tape driving up to a trailer and shooting at a side window of a camper last week, an incident report shows.

The camper was parked at the front of United RV Centers' lot, the report states. The owner called police and told them he believed Adams, a competitor, was the suspect and that the men had been in an argument earlier.

The owner said the window will cost $3,000 to replace, the report states.

Later police questioned Adams, who denied the claim, the report states. But the video camera shows Adams' vehicle near the camper and then shows him pulling out and going to his house at the end of the street, the report states.

Adams was charged with criminal damage to property second degree, the report stated.

Police are also investigating if Adams shot at the owner's other lot in Chatsworth, Ga., said Ringgold Police Chief Dan Bilbrey.
