The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga lost 25-17, 25-19, 27-29, 19-25, 15-13 to Tennessee Tech and 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22 to UNC-Asheville in the Country Inns & Suites Invitational tournament Saturday at Maclellan Gym.

Former GPS standout Heather Parman had 26 kills and 10 digs, Christina Teter and Jennifer Kuroski made 17 and 13 kills and Tess Kosycarz had 61 assists for UTC (1-9) in the loss to UNCA (5-5), when Paula Passmore and Melissa Green had 23 and 19 digs and Teter had three solo blocks.

Against TTU, Kuroski and Teter had 19 and 16 kills for UTC, Kosycarz had 44 assists and Passmore made a career-high 37 digs to go with 18 by Green and 10 plus nine kills by Parman.

Natalie Penrod had 25 kills for Tech against the Lady Mocs, including the last four in the final set, plus 20 digs, while Madison Comperry set 51 assists, Allison May and Courtney Smith had 30 and 21 digs and Kelsey Gray added 13 kills and eight block assists. The Golden Eagles later lost 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16 to East Tennessee State despite 15 and 12 kills by Penrod and Gray; Megan Devine and Bethany Gesell had 17 and 13 for ETSU.

UTC's Kuroski made the all-tournament team along with MVP Kiley Tamblyn, Kayla Williams and Jaimie Stancliff of ETSU, Cindy Miller and Meredith Foster of UNCA and May of TTU.

• At Cleveland, Lee closed out its tournament with 25-17, 25-18, 24-26, 25-10 and 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 wins over Bethel (Tenn.) and Bryan, as Christa Hutchison, Marija Zelenovic and Irene Ojukwu totaled 24, 20 and 19 kills. Kelsey Leffew and Gretchen Higdon had 28 and 24 assists against Bethel, when Arlene Ferreira joined Hutchison and Zelenovic with double-digit kills and Stephanie Todd and Sarah Smith had 17 and 16 digs. Courtney Wilson had 17 assists and Todd had 12 digs against Bryan.

Chelsea Breaden made 10 kills and Caroline Aldridge had 14 digs against Lee (4-1) for Bryan (2-10). Breaden also had 10 kills in a 3-2 loss to Bethel on Friday night, when Chelsie Blackburn had eight kills and Carolyn Evans and Laura Adams added seven apiece, while Sarah Thacker and Taylor Fink had 16 and 15 assists and Jessica Kaya and Aldridge had 15 and 14 digs. Blackburn and Evans each had two solo blocks and three block assists.

• At Mount Berry, Ga., Kristin Dahlstrand totaled 46 assists as Covenant (5-2) won 25-14, 25-19, 25-22 over Oglethorpe and 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 over Mississippi College in Berry's tournament. Jessie Jakes and Estes Carlson had 11 and 10 digs in the first win; Jakes had nine kills in the second.

• At Nashville, Tennessee Temple served 24 aces in beating Free Will Baptist Bible 25-12, 25-18, 25-12. Natasha Ferreti had nine aces with 17 assists, LaQuinta Gallishaw had eight kills and seven aces and Annie London had 15 digs with four aces for the Lady Crusaders (3-7), while P.J. Sexton had seven kills, 12 digs and three aces.

• At Memphis, Sewanee lost 3-1 to Augustana and 3-0 to Division II member Belhaven in Friday's matches at Rhodes' tournament, and the Tigers (3-5) fell 27-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16 to Principia and 25-17, 16-25, 22-25, 25-14, 15-2 to Hendrix on Saturday.

Erin Brahm had 13 assists in each Friday loss, while Kayla Sewell had eight kills and matched Nicole Klug's 18 digs against Augustana and Wilson had 18 digs with seven kills against the Blazers. Wilson had 13 kills and three solo blocks, Rachel Schuman had 15 assists and Brahm had 20 digs against Principia, and Sewell had 15 kills and five total blocks, Schuman had 19 assists and three aces and Klug had 22 digs against Hendrix.

Sewanee wins 2-1

The Sewanee men's soccer team kicked off its 20th annual Kyle Rote Jr. Invitational tournament with a come-from-behind 2-1 win Saturday afternoon against Huntingdon.

All the scoring was in the second half, beginning with a Chris Blight penalty kick for the Alabama school in the 61st minute. Tigers senior Matt Lightfoot converted a pass from Weston Stitt for the tying goal with a little less than 14 minutes left in regulation, and Stitt assisted a goal by fellow freshman Nate Owens two minutes later. Derek Williams made four keeper saves for Sewanee (2-1).

The Sewanee women tied Maryville 1-1 with Lizzie Butler scoring from a Lane Ezzell pass late in the first half for the Tigers (0-3-1) and Ashley Howarth equalizing from a Jordan Chase assist with five minutes left in regulation.

• Bryan 2, Truett-McConnell 0: At Cleveland, Ga., the NAIA's 10th-ranked Lions improved to 3-1 with their shutout win. Pierce Kiembi scored 17:10 into the match and Tom Hemmings scored from an Andrew Knighten assist at 75:34.

• Bethel (w) 5, Bryan 0: At Dayton, the visitors from McKenzie, Tenn., dropped the Lady Lions to 2-2-1. Friday night, Bryan was outshot 23-2 by visiting Cedarville but managed a 0-0 tie as Stephanie Gagnon made 10 saves.

• Covenant 0, Trevecca Nazarene 0: At Nashville, the visiting Scots matched tough defenses with the scholarshipped Trojans. Covenant is 0-2-2.

• Asbury (w) 2, Covenant 1: At Wilmore, Ky., Bre Smith's goal in the 81st minute won for the home team, eight minutes after Kara Lee equalized for the Lady Scots. Covenant keepers Hannah Bales and Lucy Johnson combined for seven saves, each allowing a goal.

• Tennessee Wesleyan 4, UAH 2: At Huntsville, Luke Winter scored all four goals for the Bulldogs (3-1), Martyn Freestone assisting on the last one. The TWC women (2-3) won 1-0 on Kimberly Key's unassisted score at 82:56.
