A 69-year-old man shot in the abdomen outside a residence Sunday was shot with a handgun or small-gauge shotgun, Soddy-Daisy Police Chief Phil Hamrick said.
Herbert Morris was airlifted to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery.
"He didn't give us any indication who had done it," he said. "We're exploring all possibilities."
Morris was shot just before noon while sitting on the front porch at 496 Depot St. No weapon was found, Hamrick said.
