Two in McMinn County face drug, weapons charges

McMinn County detectives arrested a couple Wednesday on 25 charges, including drug possession and felony weapon possession.

The detectives were investigating a case involving a stolen firearm, McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy wrote in an email, when the investigation led them to the house of Ricky and Gail Thurman at 159 County Road 100.

They discovered a meth lab, prescription medications, a marijuana plant, cash and property Guy said is believed to be stolen.

Ricky Thurman, 52, was charged with 14 crimes, including four felonies. Gail Thurman, 50, was charged with 11 crimes, including 2 felonies.
