A man in possession of $5,000 worth of methamphetamine was arrested Sept. 15 during a joint operation between the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, officials say.

The agencies took David Ray Cisco, 39, of Dutton, Ala., into custody after officers executed a search warrant at County Road 44, authorities said.

They found the stock of meth and other drug paraphernalia at the home, according to a news release.

Cisco has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has been booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center, where he is being held for Jackson County probation authorities.

Cisco was released from prison in January of this year after serving time for attempted assault of a deputy in Jackson County, records show.
