Prep football player of the week honor roll

• Baylor: Matthew Oellerich scored four rushing touchdowns and passed for another as the Red Raiders rallied from a 7-0 deficit for a 42-14 victory over Ensworth. Oellerich rushed for 113 yards (16 carries) and passed for 121 as Baylor improved to 5-0.

• Bledsoe County: Cody Holloway passed for 315 yards and four TDs, completing 20 of 33 passes with one interception as the Warriors outscored Notre Dame 61-41. Bledsoe improved to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in 7-AA.

• Boyd-Buchanan: Chase Reed had a breakout night in a key District 5-A contest, scoring four touchdowns and running for 279 yards (16 carries) as the Buccaneers (5-0) slugged Grace Academy 54-6.

• Chattanooga Christian: Beau Simmons kicked a field goal and a pair of extra points and scored a TD but the Charters fell to Sequatchie in a District 7-AA game, 38-24.

• Cleveland: C.J. Bryant ran for 177 yards on 16 carries as the Blue Raiders evened their District 5-AAA record at 1-1 with a hard-fought victory over Walker Valley.

• Copper Basin: Matt Ray passed for 237 yards but the Cougars were unable to punch in a TD in a 22-0 loss to Silverdale Baptist.

• Dade County: David Page scored four TDs and rushed for 206 yards on 16 carries as Dade County improved to 2-1 with a 48-27 victory over Armuchee, which is coached by former McMinn County favorite son John Mullinax.

• Gordon Lee: Ryan Chastain rushed for 59 yards, averaging 5.9 per carry, but the Trojans fell 21-7 to Walker.

• Grace Academy: Josh Smith passed for 94 yards and the Golden Eagles' only TD and rushed for 75 yards in a 54-6 loss to Grace Academy.

• Grundy County: Johnny Cook was held to 54 yards -- his first sub-100-yard performance -- but he came up with a pair of lost-yardage hits in the Yellowjackets' 38-6 loss to Signal Mountain.

• Heritage: Ethan Thompson scored three touchdowns, rushing 15 times for 151 yards as the Generals rebounded from a 21-0 deficit to beat Pickens County 49-34. They're 4-0.

• Hixson: Clarencio Holmes didn't want to get beat by Red Bank and proved it by rushing for 205 yards. The 3-1 Wildcats, though, came up short, 26-22, in a key District 6-AA contest.

• LaFayette: Demarcus Simpson averaged 22.3 yards on four carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as the Ramblers improved to 3-1 with a 51-21 win over Murray County.

• Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe: Bubba Cruz rushed for 155 yards and a TD on 24 carries but the Warriors dropped another heartbreaker, this time 24-17 to Gordon Central in two overtimes.

• Lookout Valley: Vann Scribner threw three touchdown passes and added a 40-yard scoring run in the Yellow Jackets' 63-16 win over Whitwell.

• Marion County: Blake Zeman picked up 64 yards on 12 carries but the 1-4 Warriors were shut out 46-0 by South Pittsburg.

• McCallie: The Blue Tornado scored 21 points in each half, led by David McClure, to post a 42-13 victory over Father Ryan. McClure was a workhorse, rushing 37 times for 241 yards and 3 TDs as McCallie improved to 3-1 heading into its game Friday against rival Baylor.

• North Jackson: Kitt Grider threw a pair of TD passes in a 15-for-18 night as the 4-0 Chiefs rallied for a 23-21 win over Guntersville.

• Notre Dame: Matt Reilly caught 10 passes for 185 yards and three TDs but the Irish fell to Bledsoe County 61-41.

• Polk County: Derrick Saxe gained 185 yards on 20 carries and scored once as the Wildcats (3-2) moved above .500 for the first time this year and took the District 5-AA lead with a 34-14 victory over Sweetwater.

• Red Bank: Randall Lee scored a pair of TDs and set up his own winning score with 14 seconds left with a fumble recovery as the Lions survived a shootout, 26-22, over Hixson. They kept their unbeaten streak intact at 4-0 (2-0 in 6-AA).

• Ridgeland: Vaughn Bell had just two carries but rushed for 73 yards and a TD in the 1-3 Panthers' 24-17 loss to Gilmer County.

• Sequatchie County: Eli Stout passed for 68 yards and ran for 96 as the Indians bested Chattanooga Christian 38-24. Stout also had a rushing touchdown. N Signal Mountain:

• Signal Mountain: Quarterback Reese Phillips misfired just twice, completing 11 of 13 tosses for 219 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles moved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in District 7-AA with a 38-6 victory over Grundy County.

• Silverdale Baptist: The Seahawks rushed 49 times for 344 yards including 76 from Josh Bryant in a 22-0 District 5-A win over Copper Basin.

• Soddy-Daisy: Cedric Edwards gained 222 rushing yards and scored three rushing TDs and added a 41 yard TD pass as the Trojans finally got a win, 40-10 over Rhea County.

• South Pittsburg: Jajuan Lankford gained 257 yards on 19 carries, adding three TDs as unbeaten South Pittsburg (4-0) rolled over rival Marion County 48-0.

• Tyner: His teammates might have been looking all year for Bobby Hendricks to make things happen and the senior came through against East Ridge, returning a fourth-quarter kickoff 80 yards to lead the Rams to a 12-7 win over the Pioneers.

• Walker Valley: Garrett Wallace completed six of 12 passes for 126 yards and two TDs and the Mustangs made a race of its battle with Cleveland before falling 31-24 to Cleveland.

• Whitwell: Ethan Easterly returned a kickoff 82 yards but Whitwell lost 63-16 to Lookout Valley.
