High school sports standouts for Sept. 20

Ashley Perrymond, Lookout Valley: Her net play included 11 kills and four blocks as the Lady Yellow Jackets defeated Whitwell 3-1 in a District 6-A volleyball match.

Savannah Nelson, Red Bank: She had 22 kills and four blocks when the Lady Lions split their two volleyball matches at East Ridge, beating Chattanooga Christian 2-0 and losing 2-0 to Notre Dame.

Melina Salter, Chattanooga Christian: She registered five assists, five digs and two aces in a 2-1 volleyball triumph over East Ridge.

Alex Guidi, Notre Dame: As Notre Dame swept both East Ridge and Red Bank by 2-0 scores, she totaled 38 assists and four aces.

Madison Gossett, Dade County: Although she had to work around five walks, it wasn't a problem since she threw a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts in the Lady Wolverines' 3-0 Region 7-AA North softball victory over Sonoraville.

Megan Storey, Sale Creek: She led in assists with 16 and also contributed five kills when the Lady Panthers beat Marion County 3-0 in a District 6-A volleyball match.

Chance Davis, Hixson: Her 24 assists, six digs, three aces and three kills helped the Lady Wildcats past Sequatchie County 3-0 in volleyball.

Rachel Darr, Gordon Lee: Her 10 digs sparked the defense and the Lady Trojans' volleyball team improved to 20-3 by beating Ridgeland 2-0.

Rachel Travis, Baylor: She had eight kills, seven digs and two aces in the Lady Red Raiders' 2-0 volleyball victory over Signal Mountain.

Regan Robertson, Silverdale Baptist: With 16 assists, 11 kills and two blocks, she helped the volleyball Lady Seahawks eke out a 3-2 victory over Boyd-Buchahan.

McKayla Burse, Southeast Whitfield: With seven aces and six digs, she helped Southeast Whitfield to a 2-0 volleyball win over Lumpkin County.

Megan Collins, Southeast Whitfield: With 11 kills, six aces, five digs and two blocks, she helped Southeast Whitfield volleyball coast to a 2-0 victory over Murray County.

Taylor Free, LaFayette: She threw six scoreless innings before eventually giving up two runs in the Lady Ramblers' three-run Region 7-AAA softball victory over Ridgeland.

Brenna Nation, Gordon Lee: In addition to pitching a three-inning one-hitter, she went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs as the Lady Trojans cruised past Darlington 18-0 in a Region 6-A softball game.

Danielle Phillips, Calhoun: She started the bottom of the first inning of the Lady Yellow Jackets' 1-0 Region 7-AA (B) softball victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe with a double and scored the run on a fielder's choice.

Olivia Holden, Soddy-Daisy: She notched 24 assists, nine digs and five aces as Soddy-Daisy beat Cleveland 3-0 in volleyball.

Caitlin Geren, Walker Valley: In Walker Valley's 3-0 volleyball win over McMinn County, she recorded 19 assists, three kills and four digs.

Jesse Jakes, Covenant: With 11 kills and eight digs, she helped Covenant's volleyball squad beat LFO 3-0.

Anna Hoffman, Chattanooga Christian: Her hat trick helped CCS cruise to a 7-0 soccer win over Silverdale Baptist.

Bayleigh Ellis, Kaitlyn Poulakis, Cleveland: They scored the goals in a 2-0 soccer win over Ooltewah.

Allana and Laurel Barnes, Boyd-Buchanan: They teamed for all the goals when the Lady Bucs defeated Red Bank 5-2 in soccer.

Kianna Delaney, Ooltewah: Known for her play at the net, where she had four kills and two blocks, she led the Lady Owls with 17 digs in their 3-0 District 5-AAA volleyball victory over Bradley Central.
