Two men wanted in East 23rd Street purse snatching

A police official says Chattanooga Police are looking for two men in connection to a robbery that occurred Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Coin Laundry on 1100 E. 23rd St.

According to police, one of the suspects entered the Coin Laundry and sprayed mace into the face of Paco Ramirez, 42, and began going through his pockets.

The second suspect pulled a gun and pointed it at Maria Ramirez, 35, - no relation to Paco Ramirez - who was holding her toddler at the time, and ordered her to give him her purse, police said.

According to police, the suspects were able to get the wallet and purse from their victims before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the first suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet and eight inches tall, heavily built, had on a dark pull over shirt with dark pants and was wearing a dark blue, red-and-white Atlanta Braves ball cap.

Police said the second suspect was described as a black male, also about 5 feet and eight inches tall, heavily built, wearing a dark shirt with dark pants and sporting a dark hat. Police said the second suspect is slightly shorter than the first one and both are clean shaven and have short hair.
