A 14-year-old girl is undergoing surgery after her mother stabbed her around 8 p.m. Sunday night, Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerry Weary said.

The girl and her mother were arguing at their home at 1701 Oak St., Weary said. The mother stabbed her daughter above her left kidney.

The girl was taken straight to surgery, Weary said, and her condition was unknown.

The mother is in custody but had not been formally charged as of Sunday night, Weary said.

Mother/Daughter animosity taken to an extreme level. They are going to both need some help working thru this conflict. I hope the kid recovers and that they both learn how to resolve their differences.

Ceeweed, there is no way to resolve your mother literally stabbing you in the back. That relationship is severed.
