LaFayette accepts city manager Johnnie Arnold’s resignation, names new one

The LaFayette City Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Johnnie Arnold and announced the new city manager at a brief meeting tonight.

Mayor Neal Florence said Franklin T. Etheridge, the former city manager in Pembroke, Ga., will take over as city manager on Oct. 10, the same day Arnold’s resigantion takes effect.

Arnold was only in his office a few minutes last week and city officials wouldn't explain his absence.
