A Soddy-Daisy woman is asking for the public's help in figuring out who shot and killed her dog and then threw it in a ditch.

Mary Lou Buoymaster says she has always had a heart for animals. And when a tenant left behind a Daschund similar to one she already has, she started taking care of it.

Last week her son found the dog was gone and its cage empty.

"He said, 'Well it's locked and it's empty.'"
