AUGUSTA, Ga. — Before we head out to the course to get “the lay of the land,” as Rudy might say, let’s cover a quick 5 questions at 10 a.m. (See what we did there? Admit it, you like it.)
- How nervous is Peter Hanson right now? Let’s just all assume dude is not at the Shoney’s breakfast bar enjoying a casual morning of biscuits and flapjacks. Here’s hoping someone reminds Peter to breath every few minutes.
- What’s the over/under on what Hanson shoots? He’s sleeping on the third-round lead of a major for the first time and he’ll put his peg in the ground today with Phil Mickelson, the modern era pirate of pro golf. Here’s setting the number at 76, and we’d be leaning toward the over.
- Who you got, Phil or the field? It’s a fair question considering Phil is 3-for-3 the last three times he’s been in the final group here.
- If you said the field, who you got? If you think Hanson, bully for you. (And here’s saying you could still get 3-to-1 or better on Hanson, which is crazy considering he’s the third-round leader.) If it’s not Phil, we’ll say Bubba Watson.
- What does Tiger Woods shoot? We’ll set the over/under at 68.5, and if he’s in the 60s, here’s betting that the phrase, “I’m really close,” will be used at least twice.
Enjoy and we’ll check back here later with some updates form Augusta National.

10 Ring,
I think a Saturday night -5 is the score that can get you to the Green Jacket, if Kucher and Watson have the games of their lives. Can't go with you on Bubba as much as I enjoy watching him play. On Sunday at big tournaments, most recently Doral, Watson needs to tighten up that loosey goosey swing to be a factor.
As for Hanson, I'm taking taking the my under @ 74. During this crazy year, we'e have seen PGA tour winners come from from 6 or 7 back on Sunday. Hanson doesn't blow up, but he will not win either.
Thank you for the updates.

We can see that. It just feels like coming up 17 and 18 the CBS boys will be talking about Mickelson needing to make pars and how Hanson had a learning experience.
We think Bubba has a chance because he's NOT in the last group and can put a number up there for Mickelson to chase.
Big news, No. 1: Tiger Woods made a birdie on a par 5 — his first since No. 8 on Thursday.
Big News No. 2: The good folks at Augusta National have pulled our very own David Uchiyama's name out of the hat to play the course tomorrow. Sweet buckets of beaver pelt-sized divots, at least the Masters crew will have a year to repair any damage he inflicts on the grounds.

MASTERS UPDATE I
Bo Van Pelt posted a 64 today and moved from 7 over to 1 under. He made eagle at 13 and an ace at 16. Pretty nice round of golf, huh?
Tiger is 1 over today after 12 holes and 4 over for the tournament.
MASTERS UPDATE II
Maybe we should have expected some craziness today considering Uch is going to play Augusta National tomorrow, but this is crazy. We've had two holes in one on No. 16. Phil Mickelson played two shots right-handed at No. 4.
And all of that is an afterthought right now in the wake of Louis Oosthuizen's double-eagle on No. 2.
Buckle up gang.

Good luck to Uch tomorrow. Not a bad call on Van Pelt after all, though it did look dicey before today. And good luck to whomever is playing with Uch. They should bring a helmet.
