A man and a woman have been charged with burglary after a traffic stop Wednesday on Meadow Lane turned up medications and jewelry stolen out of a home on Davis-Curbow Road, authorities said.
Shane Edward Rogers, 35, and Shannon Marie Burchfield, 26, both of Old Fort, have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000, said Bradley County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Gault. Their bonds are set at $50,000 each and they are scheduled to return to court on April 19, he said.
Bradley County Sheriff's deputies were on the lookout for a yellow vehicle that neighbors said was at the residence in which a laptop computer, medications and jewelry were taken on April 9, Gault said. Patrol deputy Darren Miller spotted a vehicle matching the description two days later on Meadow Lane and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies found several bottles of prescription medicine bearing the names of the victims of the theft and several watches, he said.
